Senior Adult Ministry
The Senior Adult Ministry of First Baptist De Soto seeks to glorify God by ministering to senior adults.
This ministry is an outreach program for all seniors in our community. A monthly fellowship is held on the third Thursday of each month in our Worship Center. Lunch is served at noon, followed with a brief program which includes entertainment and fellowship.
Occasionally an extended trip is taken in the spring or summer. Washington, D.C. was one location visited on an extended trip. Watch for announcements for the destination of the next extended trip.
Always on the go!
The Senior Adult Ministry takes a day trip each month to interesting locations in the area. Some trips in the recent past include the Meramec Music Theater in Steeleville, St. Louis Muny, St. Louis Cardinals baseball game, Holocaust Museum, and a Mississippi River Paddleboat Lock and Dam Cruise. Each year we plan some new and exciting trips along with some of our old favorites.
The annual Branson trip occurs in middle to late November or early December. We see several shows, drive through the Christmas lights, shop, and enjoy lots of good food and fellowship with one another. We usually have 35 to 40 people on this trip, but there is always room for more.
Golden Ladies
A group for widows that meets on the first Tuesday of each month for planned activities and fellowship. Activities include dining out, visiting places of interest, game days at church, etc. For more information contact Jackie Henry or Muriel Scarbrough.
Nursing Home Ministries
There are a number of ways we minister to those in nursing or residential care facilities. We offer Bible Study on Thursday afternoons to anyone who wishes to attend. We also visit area nursing homes on the third Saturday of each month from 9am to 11am. We play games and visit one-on-one with the residents. Anyone is welcome to join us as we minister to the residents. It is always a blessing to serve in the Lord's name.

We would also like to invite you to attend one of our Bible study classes that meet each Sunday morning at 8:15am or 11:00am. We have Bible study classes for men, women, and couples.
If you are a senior adult (55 years of age and above) there is a place for you at First Baptist De Soto.
