Welcome to First Baptist De Soto, Children’s Ministries. I hope this webpage will be helpful in defining the ministries we have for your children. The Bible promises “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:11-13). First Baptist De Soto desires that your children experience a full and meaningful life. We believe that life is in Jesus. Each children’s ministry is focused on your child’s learning to know and live for Jesus. God has created each child for a special purpose, and He desires to share that plan with them. As they live out that plan, they can truly have a full and meaningful life.

A.W.A.N.A

Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed is a children’s discipleship program with lots of Fun! Games! Bible lessons, Missionary Adventures, and Bible Memory! Come get your own hand- book, vest or T-shirt and earn patches, pins, badges, ribbons, achievement jewels, and other rewards according to each child’s age.

VBS

Vacation Bible School is a week long event during the summer for our children.  Over 500 children come and learn about Jesus.  Look at our calendar for dates of this years VBS.  

Good News Club

Bible Club for boys & girls grades K - 6 after school at Vineland Elementary on Mondays from 3:30pm - 5:00pm & Athena Elementary on Thursdays from 3:30pm - 5:00pm. Snacks, Bible stories, games, songs & more!

UpWard

Where every child is a winner! Children learn team- work, respect for authority and sportsmanship. The season runs from December to early March and is offered to children in Kindergarten ~ 8th grade.

Bates Creek Camp

One week for kids who have completed grades 3-5. Come experience a week of Summer Camp in a beautiful woods setting near Potosi, MO.  We have an air conditioned cabin.  Camp includes outdoor wood chapel, Bible classes, games, swimming, sports, crafts & much more.

Day Camp

Summer camp at the Jefferson Baptist Association Park in Mapaville, for children who have completed K - Grade 2. A bus will take them from the church to the park each day for Bible stories, music, crafts, swimming & hiking.
